MINI Countryman Gets Dressed. For Real

They call it yarn bombing. Some consider it art, like graffiti, but for most, yarn bombing is nothing more than an action of dressing up a tree, or a pole, or a bench somewhere, in cloth. In our case, the action of dressing up a MINI Countryman in a disturbingly colorful sweater.

The name of the artist behind this project is Magda Sayegis. The name of the customer is, well MINI. The British auto maker decided to let a Countryman in the handy hands of the woman as a means for it to advertise its most recent competition, the Wanderlust.

This past weekend, the MINI Countryman wrapped in yarn knitting was at the center of a picnic party organized by Sayeg. The picnic is just one of the many private parties MINI hopes to see taking place in April and May, as part of the Wanderlust competition.

For those who missed out on the story, Wanderlust will be comprised of 18 separate MINI sanctioned events throughout the most important cities in the US, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin, Chicago and New York. More details about the MINI endeavor can be found at the following link. (If you have your doubts, below is the MINI invitation to the Wanderlust; and before we forget: a brand new MINI Countryman is up for grabs).

"Are you itching to ditch the office and take off with all your friends for some high adventure? Wish you could hit the lake and race from one shore to the other? Take a road trip somewhere you’ve never been, return with a new secret and some stories to tell? You’ve come to the right place. Don’t just sit there – join the Wanderlust movement! "
