MINI Countryman “Getaway” Making Of

Launching in September, the Countryman is MINI’s first-ever four door car, so a proper marketing campaign was necessary. The company has held parties after parties across Europe to launch the new crossover, and has also used a single by U.S country singer Michelle Branch feat. Timbaland to introduce its fourth model.

The song is dubbed “Getaway” and already benefits of a music video to be officially released by Warner Music this summer, but a ‘making of’ footage can already be watched below.

“I saw the new car and I was inspired to write a song about getting away and getting out from the everyday confinements of life.  Sometimes the fix for that is taking a road trip, so I worked on an exciting project with Timbaland and he produced the track with me,”
Michelle Branch said of the ‘getaway’ single.

“We are thrilled to be working with Timbaland and Michelle Branch on such a unique collaboration for the launch of MINI Countryman. Music is important to our community members and with this car launch inspiring the words for the song ‘Getaway,’ we’re confident that we’ll capture the imagination of those who live the Urban-Country lifestyle,” Wolfgang Armbrecht, Senior Vice President MINI Brand Management, said in a release.

When it goes on sale this fall, the MINI Countryman range will include three petrol and two diesel models, as well as two ALL4 all-wheel drive models – the Cooper D ALL4 and Cooper S ALL4.

Pricing for the brand’s fourth model will be ranging between 20,200 - 25,900 euros.
