MINI Countryman Arrives in Australia

The wait for the new MINI Countryman crossover is over, as the model has finally hit Australian shores in force. MINI Australia also confirmed that the diesel-powered version of the car, the Copper D, is to be made available in the county from March.

The price for the manufacturer’s base model will be AUD37,700, while the Cooper S will set you back AUD47,500. Meanwhile, the four-wheel drive Cooper S ALL4 will be offered for AUD50,400. In the case of the diesel Cooper D, that will start at AUD40,950.

The launch of the new model was presided over by MINI Australia National Manager, David Woollcott, who said that the vehicle could be just the thing needed by customers wanting extra space space and flexibility for their family or leisure activities.

“The Countryman is versatile enough to accommodate any lifestyle while retaining the sense of fun that makes all MINIs so good to drive and enjoyable to own,”
said Woollcott.

The MINI Countryman will be available with a choice of two petrol engines and one diesel unit, ranging in output from 110 to 181 hp (82kW to 135 kW) that fulfill the EU5 emission standard. Both the S and D versions are available with optional ALL4 all-wheel drive.

The suspension on all models comes with DSC Dynamic Stability Control as standard, while passive safety of a highest degree is ensured by the high-load-resistant body structure, but also by six airbags, three-point inertia-reel seat belts on all seats and a Tire Defect Indicator.
