Off Road Magazine held its annual pole about the best 4x4 cars in the world for 2013 and the podium of the subcompact SUV category was surprising to say the least.
MINI Countryman ALL4 climbed to the second place thanks to the voters, reconfirming the acclaimed success of the British company's model. The 102,000 units sold in 2012 are another clear testimony that the Countryman is one of the most popular models in the MINI line-up, despite being the first 4-door in the company's history.

The voters appreciated the typical go-kart feeling of the car even though it is now fitted with an all-wheel-drive system. Alongside the Dynamic Stability Control, the ALL4 system varies the torque between the wheels to ensure perfect levels of traction at all times.

Presented annually since 1982, the "Off Road Award" is one of the most tradition-steeped prizes in the automotive sector. This year there were a total of 128 current models to choose from in 13 categories.
