If you’re a big MINI fan and you also want to have a family, there are not too many options laying around. The MINI Countryman is the way you want to go but before you make a definitive decision, you should read all sorts of reviews like the one Car Advice did.
They tested the Cooper S version which doesn’t make too much sense, if you ask me. So, you want a MINI that is practical, has more space than a regular hatch and will be used for the whole family. Why go for an S version that was enhanced to give you a racier driving experience? Go for the diesel version and you’ll be set.
One of the things that will get in the way is the suspension, that in this case, was specially tuned to hold you tighter in fast corners. The engine will be brilliant and so will the transmission but other than that, there are more disadvantages to going ’S’ than to going ‘D’ or ‘SD’ for that matter.
Instead of all the extra money you have to pony up for the enhanced 1.6-liter turbocharged engine you could very well get a lot of optional features that will make your life easier. That’s roughly what the guys are also saying in their review. But don’t take my word for it, check it out for yourself.
