For those who want to deliver whatever it is they are delivering in style, they need not look any further than the new MINI Clubvan. As its name suggests, it’s a MINI Clubman, which has been turned into a van, by not having rear windows, as well as removing the rear seats to give the car a decent-ish cargo bay of 860 liters.
Powering the Clubvan are the familiar 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines in various states of tune, with the 'One' featuring a 97 hp petrol unit which costs £11,175 (with VAT deducted) in Britain. Topping the diesel range, we find the 'Cooper D Automatic,' powered by a 110 hp diesel engine which is, as its name suggests, connected to an automatic gearbox. The range topper will set you back £14,510, not including VAT.
While we are skeptical as to the appeal of this new commercial vehicle, we’re sure that posh stores around the world will find that delivering their ‘goods’ in the back of a Clubvan will make their customers feel that whatever it is they’re paying for is definitely worth it. Expect an official debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next week.
