BMW continues its collaboration with the popular PlayStation racing simulator, Gran Turismo, via a new concept car that was just unveiled online. This time though, it’s a MINI Clubman.
I know, usually, the Clubman is not usable as a racing car. After all, those barn-style doors at the back are supposed to be used for other purposes not housing the twin exhaust pipes of an extremely powerful engine but for this occasion, we’ll make an exception.

That’s because such design sketches allow us to take a look at how the mind of an artist works and how he puts together his thoughts to create unique cars that could, one day, become reality. This is what drives us further anyhow, the ability to dream of things that seem unfathomable at the current moment but that could be possible in the future.

Of course, nobody will be torn apart if this hardcore Clubman doesn’t come alive but it’s worth taking a look at it. Just like its other brothers from BMW (after all MINI is owned by the BMW Group) this car features some rather extreme traits here and there.

The headlights feature an “X” motif while the bonnet has not one but two air scoops on it, coupled with wide air intakes at the sides and a mean carbon fiber splitter on the front bumper.

The roof turned blue and the side mirrors are carbon fiber while the wheels seem to have grown in size quite generously (22 inches in diameter). Oh, and as an interesting detail, two extra tailpipes seem to have been integrated in the rear windows.

Of course, it’s all looking like way too much but that’s the advantage a video game has over that thing we call... reality. However, as crazy as it may seem, it does feel like some clues were taken off the Superleggera concept.

The specs look incredible as well, with 395 HP being sent to all four corners of the car via the ALL4 system that also takes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) to 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h (180 mph).
