MINI Chain Reaction Ad Explained

 A couple of weeks back, MINI launched a new ad online that featured all sorts of MINIs from the original car to the 2014 one, all of them falling into place through a really well thought out dominoes set. The chain reaction in that clip was pretty interesting to watch and some people even wondered how it was all put together.
Well, the people behind the short film decided to share the experience with us and posted another video on Youtube, explaining how everything was done, from the lazy dog laying inside a parking booth to the way they tilted the cars and created the Computer Generated Images.

Logistics were very important for this ad and finding the perfect car park was the first challenge of many. After finding what they needed somewhere in Los Angeles, the crew had to go to the local police and ask them to help out with the traffic so that they could get the perfect shots, even if that meant driving on the other side of the road or on one way streets, going the wrong way.

Of course, during the whole ordeal, a security manager also had to take care of the car and keep it away from prying eyes since it wasn’t officially launched at that time. As our spyshots show, he didn’t do a great job…
