On March 12, 2013 the 250,000th MINI Countryman rolled of the assembly line in Magna Steyr's factory in Graz, Austria. This incredible number stands as a great statement that the brand's hallmark driving fun and classic style are appreciated in the compact premium segment.

This innovative vehicle was designed from the beginning for a target group that appreciates some extra functionality but, at the same time, want to continue to experience the fun of driving through tight bends. Also the Countryman was the first ever MINI to have an optional all-wheel-drive system, a feature that transported the go-kart feeling into this versatile car.

Out of the various versions of the Countryman the most popular one was the MINI Cooper S Countryman followed closely by the MINI Cooper Countryman. However, the diesel versions were great sellers too, in the countries where they were available, accounting for almost 37% of the Countryman sales in 2012.
