Mini Beachcomber Concept Heading For Detroit Autoshow

In order to put out the fire ignited by enthusiast’s anticipation for the MINI Countryman crossover unveiling, with...gasoline, BMW Group has prepared a new concept for the next month’s Detroit Auto Show.

It is called the Mini Beachcomber Concept and it “symbolizes the elementary values of the brand in new, radical style – and at the same time the new model continues the current development of the MINI range in a particularly attractive manner.”

It’s basically an extreme version of the Countryman, designed for those who adore the feeling of freedom in nature; and the wild landscapes that this 4 seater is designed for, as it is equipped with MINI's ALL4 all wheel drive system and suspension system. Another interesting feature that might come in handy when going off-road is the center console designed with a special fastening system for external audio devices.

No actual technical details of the study have been released but, if you are a fan of automotive poetry, you can check the attached press release. In excess of 4000 romantic automotive words are waiting for you there.

The Beachcomber has no roof and no doors but the company says there is no need to worry as a hard top and a soft top are both included in the concept’s design. We think concerns like that would be unnecessary because it is unlikely that this study will ever leave the factory as a production car. On the other hand, you never know what might happen. Anyone remember the MINI Moke softroader from the sixties?
