For the tenth time in a row, the ‘Value Champion’ title in Germany, awarded by Auto Bild went to a MINI automobile. This year, it was the Countryman Cooper S model that went to the top spot instead of the usual hardtop and cabrio models that used to alternate winning it until now, since 2005.
Despite people criticizing it for being too big or ‘not a MINI’, ever since its launch, the Countryman proved its worth and popularity on more than one occasion, this one just being added to an already impressive list.
According to this latest research done by Auto Bild in cooperation with market-monitoring institute Schwacke, the MINI Cooper S Countryman has a residual value of 59.1 percent which translates into the best of its class.
Of course, a lot of work has been put into calculating all the indicators, having to keep in mind such things as the new prices, operating costs, performance in comparison tests, brand image and general market trends.
