For just $550 you can have your own BMW F80 M3 done in Mineral White, one of the most popular colors from the Bavarians that seems to give every car a touch of class.
The color might seem dull at first but you really must see it in real life to recognize the difference between it and the no-cost Alpine White version that has a much cheaper look to it.
That’s exactly what one of the spotters most active on Autogespot managed to do when he met up with one such car in Munchen earlier this week. Fortunately for us, he had his camera with him and managed to snap a couple of photos of the beauty sitting in front of him.
A couple of details must be emphasized here. First of all, the car is still a prototype or ‘Werkstestwagen’ as the sticker on the rear bumper says (translated into Factory Test Car) and as the covered up badges suggest.
On top of that, the CFRP roof is gone, being replaced by a sunroof that adds more style to the car but diminishes its performance as it make it heavier. Last, but not least, we have to point out the Carbon Ceramic Brakes, a $8,150 option that will make sure you never suffer from lack of braking either on or off the track.
We quickly went online and started looking for a price for a car fitted only with these options. The minimum price tag you’d have to pay to have an M3 looking exactly like this would be $73,775, includin the $925 destination and handling tax.
That’s because you’d have to add $550 for the paint, $950 for the black Merino leather inside and $1,200 for the 19” 437 M style wheels that will accomodate the bigger brakes beneath them. However, you won’t have to pay anything for the moonroof or the manual transmission and that’s a big plus!
