Milka Duno to Make Stock Car Debut at Daytona ARCA Event

The two women that caught the eyes of all racing enthusiasts in the North American IndyCar Series – one way or the other, with more or less success – Danica Patrick and Milka Duno are set to conquer the world of stock racing also. And, since there has to be a start for everything, both have announced racing debuts in the upcoming few weeks.

If the reports about Patrick's debut in the Nationwide Series somewhere this season have already surfaced in the media in recent weeks, her Venezuelan rival recently confirmed she will make her stock car debut in the ARCA race at Daytona International Speedway.

The event is set to take place next month and will see both Duno and Patrick in the starting grid. The two have already completed one ARCA test just before Christmas – at the 2.5-mile oval of Daytona International Speedway – with Duno scoring the 13th best time of the 3-day test and Patrick following her in 14th place.

Her performance in the aforementioned test seems to have convinced the Braun Racing officials that the Venezuelan female driver deserves a chance to prove herself in an ARCA-sanctioned event, and therefore announced that she will take the wheel of the #90 Toyota Camry during the next month's season opener.

However, before doing so, Duno will proceed to a second test with the team, scheduled to take place next week at the Talladega track. Nevertheless, there is still no clue as to how long her racing programme for this year's ARCA Series will be, or if she'll be offered the chance to do some Nationwide Series outings during the course of the 2010 NASCAR Series.

In addition, she is yet to secure a full-time seat in the IndyCar Series, as compared to Patrick, who will do a parallel racing programme for the upcoming season (Indy and NASCAR/ARCA).
