Former car trader turned British TV star Mike Brewer is the man in charge with finding the cars, while the restoration was handled for thirteen seasons by Edd China, and presently by Ant Anstead. Both talented mechanics, who can bring any car back from the dead.

A while back, in response to a dare, Brewer found a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS in horrible condition, and set out to restore it. At the end of 1,500 hours of work, and after an estimated investment of £40,000 (roughly $51,000), the SS lives again.

The repairs included everything from restoring the engine to painting the car as close as possible to the original Le Mans blue.

As far as the engine is concerned, the team did not limit itself at simply rebuilding the unit, but also gave it a power boost. Now, the 6.5-liter V8 no longer develops 375 bhp, but 410, thanks to the addition of a high lift sports cam, Magnaflow exhaust system, and Hedman manifolds.

The engine is linked to a Muncie M21 four-speed manual gearbox and an aluminum prop shaft, while stopping power comes from an upgraded braking system.

Brewer's Camaro is now for sale, and the TV star, together with Classic Car Auctions, will try and find a new owner for it in December, at the Warwickshire Event Centre in the UK.

This is a fantastic car being offered at auction directly from Mike Brewer himself. We are absolutely delighted that Mike has chosen us to sell a car that he said was his keeper,” said in a statement Gary Dunne, Classic Car Auctions manager.

This really is a superb example of classic American muscle and one that has been restored by “Mr Car Restorer” himself and the man at the front of the very successful TV series Wheeler Dealers.”
