Midual to Reveal New Type 1 Bike after 16 Years

Are you a sucker for crazy, hand-built bikes which are easily mistaken for works of art? Great, because the French manufacturer Midual (most of us believed to be dead and buried) has just announced that a new bike will be revealed next month.

Midual will show the Type 1 new motorcycle at the Pebble Beach, California Concours d’Elegance on August 17, the manufacturer’s Facebook page reads. Just like we saw Ducati do, Midual has put a bike covered in a sexy red wrap on the landing page of their website, with no tech details being offered or rumored.

However, the few photos being offered at the moment act like a very solid teaser, as they depict several aesthetic details of the upcoming Type 1 machine. The bike is definitely going to look smashing, with the dashboard finished in hand-polished and lacquered Australian, hand-polished and engraved brake fluid reservoirs, with every detail of the machine being taken care of with almost maniacal attention.

It looks like Midual is the mystery employer who was searching for marketing specialists last year in France. The old ad spoke of a person skilled in selling high-end super-luxury products, and judging by these photos, Midual seems to fit the description quite well.

Founded in 1992 by brothers Olivier and Francois Midy, Midual was centered on developing high-end luxury motorbikes with very advanced technological solutions implemented. In 1999 the intriguing Midual 900 was unveiled, sporting a longitudinally-mounted 900cc flat twin (boxer), a new take on the old Douglas architecture.

Stay tuned for more.
