While everybody is waiting for Microsoft to spill the beans on the next Forza Horizon, the company keeps improving the latest version with new updates and typical season updates.
But as we learned the hard way, not all game updates that land for Forza Horizon 4 are good news, as some of these releases ended up doing more harm than good, eventually causing critical crashes on launch.
And as it turns out, this is also the case of the June 2 update for Forza Horizon 4, though in this case, the game crashes reported by users don’t seem to be as widespread as before.
First and foremost, let’s see what’s new in this update.
According to the official changelog, the June 2 update includes the festival playlist content for Series 36, as well as a series of additional stability improvements, with Microsoft actually not providing any specifics in this regard.
Several users on Steam, however, claim that after installing the latest Forza Horizon 4 update on their PCs, the game just crashes on launch, with no workaround known to be doing the trick so far.
This isn’t the first time a Forza update causes such problems, though as I said, the crashes seem to be rather sporadic this time and not hitting everybody who installs the update. But it goes without saying the error still needs to be fixed as soon as possible, especially because the game has therefore become unplayable for some Steam users.
In the meantime, Microsoft might also be gearing up for sharing the first public tidbits about Forza Horizon 5.
The E3 conference, which is scheduled to start later this month, could witness the debut of a new Forza preview, though until now, Microsoft has remained completely tight-lipped on everything. The game is expected to be set in Mexico, according to sources familiar with the matter, and not in Japan as it was originally speculated.
