Michelle Rodriguez Pushes Jaguar F-Type SVR to 200 MPH

We always knew that the Jaguar F-Type had star power. But because of the wide hips and sexy lines, we were thinking more along the lines of pornstar power. However, Hollywood A-listers appreciate the mighty F, starting with Fast and Furious actress Michelle Rodriguez.

When directors chose her to play Letty Ortiz fifteen years ago, we doubt that anybody expected her portrayal of the character would last seven movies with at least two more on the way. But since the custom car world in Jersey City, where she grew up, was so significant, Rodriguez always had a secret love for automobiles.

Right now, the F-Type SVR is showing America what the fastest Jaguar of this century looks like. However, another example joined Michelle in the middle of the desert, where the two reached 200 miles per hour together.

We knew that the SVR Coupe could go that fast since its debut in Geneva. However, Jaguar never showed the car being maxed out before. So you could say Rodriguez is like the Chuck Yeager of supercharged V8 land aircraft. Of course, there are plenty of other cars that can go this fast, but all of them are supercharged and cost more money.

A Jaguar hasn't gone over the 200 mph marker since the XJ220 built between 1992 and 1994. The different between that car and the F-Type is that it has full power seats, a nice stereo, and all the comfort features. Unless we are mistaken, the XJ didn't have much of a trunk either.

It's amazing that all this is happening with a car inspired by 60s design. It's not like they reinvented the engine either, as Jaguar has been offering a 5-liter supercharged V8 since the first fossilized dinosaurs appeared.

"Driving this car was insane! I've now broken my personal speed record in the beautiful Jaguar F-TYPE SVR. Reaching 201mph felt amazing, the car drove really smoothly, all my corrections were minimal, I was super focused, and it really reacted in all the right ways. I don't think I'd ever go this fast without a professional driver seated next to me, but oh man, it was an incredible feeling," Michelle Rodriguez said.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
