Michael Schumacher Receives $7 Million Island from Prince of Dubai

If your name is Michael Schumacher and you  completed your final Grand Prix at Interlagos, someone up there will reward you accordingly. Well, not exactly someone above there but who cares when you're probably receiving the most unusual present of your life? Especially when this odd gift is worth a few million American dollars...

As if having six towers with his name on them all over the world weren't rewarding enough for his World Championship victories in the F1 series, Dubai’s crown prince Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum thought of gifting Michael Schumacher with his own $7 million dollar private island.

Schumi's island is situated off the coast of Jumeirah, Dubai  in a cluster of isles known as “The World”.

The real estate group Al Nakheel Properties created all 300 of The World’s isles which have been intentionally placed to represent countries of the world when viewed from above.

As the group claims “An array of island parcels means an array of possibilities. Engineered to be flexible and designed to be unforgettable - a blank canvas in the azure waters of the Arabian Gulf. An incomparable destination.”

Now speaking about record-breaking Formula 1 driver's plot of land, his island is located in the southern hemisphere of “Antarctica”. Although this might not be  exactly his favorite region in the world and perhaps he would have preferred “Germany” instead but who can dare make wry faces to such a generous gift? You know, no hard feelings but there are children who are starving in Africa...
