Porsche has always ensured the 911 maintains an understated look, but when it comes to specials such as the GT3 RS, this asset is forgotten, being replaced with eye-catching details such as the widebody approach and the generously-sized rear wing.
And when such a Rennsport Neunelfers gets dressed in a hue like the overly extrovert Miami Blue, the results will draw attention like a magnet - check out the image above and you'll catch our drift.

Nevertheless, the onwer of this GT3 RS wanted to ensure his 911 doesn't become somebody else's motorized sweetheart, which is why the Zuffenhausen machines was gifted with an old-school steering lock. The car was spotted in Germany and we have to thank Boosted Boris for the image.

And while some might cringe at the thought of the extra weight brought by such a device (just think of Porsche's sticker badge diet), you should know the mechanical steering wheel lock is making a comeback these days.

Why is the steering wheel bar on its way to gaining popularity once again?

The safety device, which enjoyed its glory days back in the late 80s and early 90s, seems like the best solutions in a world where key fobs can be easily cloned. Heck, given the retro aroma of any 911, this back-to-basics approach seems like the most reasonable way to enjoy your ownership experience. Even the police in various European cities has recommended drivers to turn to such safety measures.

For one thing, even if your insurance covered the cost of the vehicle in case of a theft, you'd still be faced with the possibility of not being able to find another GT3 RS for the money. In other words, we're looking at pure rear-engined love here.

P.S.: It's difficult to look at this GT3 RS without imagining the clutch-related trolling comments a gear shifter lock would most likely lead to.
