The only model currently offered by MG, the MG6, is finally getting that diesel engine the Chinese promised when they launched the car. British customers will be able to order both body styles of this car with a 1.9-liter DTi-TECH turbodiesel.
The unit features common rail direct injection, Stop-Start technology and Smart Charging, an energy saving system that cuts power to some electric elements that don’t need it.

The unit produces 150 PS and a decent 350 Nm of torque, but will only shift the MG6 to 60 mph in 8.9 seconds, while top speed is 120 mph. It will supposedly do 59 mpg on the motorway and 46.1 mpg in the city. It’s not particularly green either – CO2 emissions are 139g/100km.

Prices start at £16,820 for the GT in S trim; £18,020 for the GT in SE trim; £20,020 for the GT in TSE trim and the Magnette.

Even the base MG6 S comes standard with anti-lock braking (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), brake pad wear sensor, brake disc wiping, Stability Control System (SCS)  and Hill Hold.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
