Word has it SAIC is developing a new MG5 sedan which is scheduled to be launched on the Chinese market next year.
Little is known about the new vehicle, but a recent report reveals that the MG5 sedan will be based on the Roewe 350 sedan, just like the MG5 hatchback. However, the sedan is expected to arrive with a sportier design and a new turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 127 bhp (95 kW) and 199 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque.
In addition, the MG5 sedan could also benefit from a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission developed in China. No word on whether the new vehicle will become available in Europe or not. In China, the sedan is expected to have a starting price of CNY90,000.
Besides the MG5 sedan, SAIC is also working on an MG3 supermini, with production to commence later this year.
