MG’s first SUV, the CS Concept, was revealed by a couple of photos that surfaced on the web ahead of the vehicles debut at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show scheduled later this month.
According to CarsChina, who claims the pictures are official, the CS Concept is a based on the Icon SUV Concept unveiled during last year’s Beijing Motor Show. However, the CS no longer bears the MGB-inspired styling cues and sports a thin V-shaped front grille and overall sharpened lines.
No official details have been released yet, but rumor has it the CS Concept is an almost production-ready vehicle. Furthermore, MG’s first ever SUV could be powered by a SAIC in house-developed turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
Whatever the case, we will find out more about the MG CS SUV Concept once the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show opens its doors on April 20.
