Grammy-nominated Mexican singer-songwriter Ximena Sarinana once again paired with the Japanese auto maker to bring music fans a real-time social media experience from two of the summer’s biggest music festivals, Lollapalooza and the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival.
Toyota’s newest social media marketing product called “Musica y Destinos con Toyota” launched on the 1st of August and has the Mexican celebrity live-reporting from Lollapalooza, the three-day music festival held in Chicago through last Sunday. The festival normally attracts around 100,000 people per day, so it was a good opportunity for the company to promote its hybrid car. Xinena paired with Toyota before, a year ago, for a similar festival.

Xinena was only one of the big celebrities part of the crazy line-up that included, OutKast, Skrillex, Eminem, Actic Monkeys and Lorde. According to Toyota’s press release, after the first festival, Sarinana’s journey continues as she shared highlights of her road trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco in a Toyota Prius, before making her final stop at the renowned Outside Lands Festival.

This three-day festival also offers an array of attractions and vendors showcasing food, wine and art. It will be held in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park from August 8-10.

In case you haven’t heard, the Prius is quite the hybrid car in US, considering the sale figures. Even though it’s sold in over 80 countries and regions, its largest markets are Japan and the  US. Global cumulative Prius sales reached the milestone 1 million vehicle mark in May 2008, 2 million in September 2010, and passed the 3 million mark in June 2013. Well, all that was good news until Elon Musk’s Tesla Model S hit the market and celebrities started looking towards the new green car.

Hard to say what’s the best ride to make the 28-year old beauty look better in, but marketing is marketing. You can always take a peek at the video below to figure it out yourself.
