Good news for the heavy tourers: Metzeler announces their newest addition to their touring-oriented product range, the ME888 Marathon Ultra, also dubbed "Triple 8".
The Marathon Ultra is a tire dedicated to touring, custom cruisers/ baggers and even vintage motorcycles, and carries on the heritage of the predecessor ME880 Marathon. What sets the Triple 8 apart form the rest of the similar tires is its special design intended to deliver extra mileage.
“We fine-tuned all the features that made the ME880 such a success and then focused on a significant mileage improvement” Metzeler Director of Marketing and Key Accounts, Chris Wall declared. The ME888 has increased wet and dry performance and boasts reduced structural fatigue through a wider geometry than similar design tires have.
With a 15% larger contact patch, the Metzeler ME888 will be available during the 1st quarter of 2013, but so far no price has been announced.
