After yesterday autoevolution brought you the full details and a comprehensive gallery showing the new interpretation of the Viano, we are now taking a peek at the more commercial-oriented version, the new Vito.

The new Vito brings with it the promise of being more eco-friendly, while at the same time more useful. The van is powered by a new range of Euro 5-compliant engines, comprising both diesel and petrol offerings.

The engines of the Vito have been revised with the addition of revised units, all offering BlueEFFICIENCY
technologies as options. The new powerplants are 110 CDI (95 hp), 113 CDI (136 hp), 116 CDI (163 PS), 122 CDI (224 hp) and the Vito 126 (258 hp).

All engines propel a revised chassis, which features the same basic construction as the previous models. The changes brought to the chassis include cover suspension springs and spring retainers, supporting bearings and suspension strut towers, transverse links with bearings and anti-roll bar and bearings.

The vans have a carrying capacity of 2.80 tons (the previous generation only had 2.77 tons), but all models of the new generation can be ordered as 3.05 tons variants.

Inside, the model brings several enhancements as well, including new fabrics and color. The biggest novelty however is the addition of the Vito CREW and SHUTTLE variants. The former comes equipped with rear bench seats, air conditioning and additional heat exchanger,, while the latter adds Tempmatik controlled air conditioning system, comfort driver seat, cockpit with Softouch surfacing, comfort bench seats and carpeting in the passenger compartment.

Pricing for the new models has not yet been announced.
