The Beijing Motor Show is the perfect venue for the Mercedes Viano Vision Diamond Concept to be shown at. It has become a well-known fact that Chinese customers demand ample leg room in the back of their cars and this Mercedes concept delivers that in spades. The sheer level of luxury and opulence one finds in the back of what is basically a van is unbelievable.
Leaving the interior aside for a second, the body of the car gets a two tone paintjob, LED running lights and AMG inspired 5 spoke alloy wheels. Now that it’s out of the way, we can talk about the interior in more detail. The layout can be altered electrically and the space can be converted into a lounge, where one can take a load off in one of the leather clad seats after a hard day at the office taking a load off in a leather clad seat, or whatever it is that businessmen do all day. A press of a button later and you’ve got a rolling office where you can have meetings where everybody will be able to see your pie-charts and graphs with ease on the massive 40-inch display.
If you care for a little privacy, or you don’t want other people to see your pie-charts, you can make all the windows opaque. The system is called Magic Sky Control and it is also used on the SLK, Maybach and some high-end homes. The partition between the passenger compartment and the chauffeur also benefits from the same system.
Other interior features include, but are not limited to, heated, cooled and massaging seats, Bang & Olufsen sound system, mood lighting and more cupholders than you could use at any one time.
