Mercedes released official "spy" photos featuring the coming models of the Unimog and Econic, camouflaged while being tested in the cold weather of Finland.
According to the automaker, the two trucks have been tested for weeks on icy roads, big snow and low temperatures reaching -30 degrees Celsius (-22° F). The Unimog and the Econic have also been tested in Spain, at high altitudes (2,500 m / 8,202 ft) and 45 degrees Celsius (113° F) temperatures, to make sure they can handle both extreme conditions.
The work-horses are set to be introduced this fall, having new design cues for the interior as well as for the exterior. Also, Mercedes confirmed that they will be equipped with the new BlueTec-6 diesel engines fitted with AdBlue system and particle filtres, to meet the new improved Euro VI emissions standards.
