Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster Caught Naked

Now that the winter uses full throttle, it’s time to offer you more Mercedes-related convertible news. After the future generation of the SLK was (more or less) accidentally revealed a few days ago, it is now time to move to the other end of the German carmaker’s topless range, a place where we can find the SLS AMG Roadster.

The Internet has been buzzing with rumors about the topless version of the Mercedes SLS AMG. The German automotive producer has been making efforts to keep the car undercover, but it seems that the company wasn’t all that willing to keep the secret.

The vehicle has been caught on camera (unfortunately, we are talking about a mobile phone camera) by an automotive enthusiast that was paying attention while on the ferry traveling from Germany to Sweden. You can find a gallery of the special encounter on teknikensvarld.se.

The SLS AMG Roadster will leave the famous gullwing doors at the factory. So, we’ll have to make due with regular doors, but what do we get for this great sacrifice?

As you can see, Mercedes chose a stylish approach, gifting the vehicle with a soft top. This means that the automaker’s cabrio range will offer a more balanced approach in terms of the metal - cloth top ratio.

The SLS AMG Roadster is expected to be a big hit, offering a new wrapping for an excellent package. However, the contemporary automotive market comes with a fierce competition and the German vehicle won’t be able to avoid this fight.

The group of vehicles in which the topless SLS was included, also featured an Audi R8 Spyder. This can only mean that Merc sees the four-ringed vehicle as their creation’s main competitor.
