Mercedes SLS AMG Receives KW Suspension

The world of tuning has its own special islands and of the most entertaining is the supercar one, which has just welcomed a new inhabitant, as KW is introducing a new suspension system for the Mercedes SLS. The aftermarket developer aimed to enhance the vehicle’s handling, but wanted to keep the comfort at the same level.

Thus, the company modified the its Variant 3 coilovers according to the specific requirements of the SLS. The new suspension offers independently adjustable compression and rebound damper settings, allowing the driver to choose the right setup for the driving conditions. In addition to that, the driver can lower the the ride height by between 10 and 35 mm.

The new development also offers a Hydraulic Lift System (HLS) that can raise the vehicle by up to 40 mm at the push of a button, a feature that allows the car to tackle speed bumps and garage exits.When the car reaches 80 km/h (50 mph), the system lowers the vehicle automatically.

“The SLS with the KW Variant 3 coilovers not only achieves better performance, but in fact, in comparison with the Performance Package from Mercedes-Benz, even offers the driver a wide range of adjustments for individual settings. When it comes to comfort, too, the suspension specialists have taken care not to go for compromises like the Performance Package, which shows particularly in the improved continuous-travel comfort,” stated the press release.

KW offers the Variant 3 coilovers for EUR3,299 and the Hydraulic Lift System for EUR7,499.
