Don't tell Mercedes this, but ever since we first saw the SLS supercar's doors, we wondered what it would be like to drive it with them open. The beautiful gullwings give the impression that the Merc could one day spread its wings and fly.
Unfortunately, the next video proves that's not possible, as those beautiful doors are more like chicken wings than gull wings.
Clearly proving that they have more money than common sense, these people are going along a Florida highway at 70 miles per hour (112 km/h).
It's a good thing that the Germans build their cars strong, because those doors could have caused some serious damage had they come off, to the occupants of the SLS or that Audi R8 behind them.
There's one thing that we can all take from this, and that the SLS deserves to be treated nicely, either as a coupe or, as we tested it, an SLS AMG Roadster.
