An outrageous top speed of 305 km/h in a roadster.This is the ultimate proposal from German tuner Brabus, who has recently released a complete tuning package for the freshly face lifted Mercedes SLK.
The mind-blowing speed can be accomplished thanks to serious modifications on the SLK 55 AMG engine, which had its displacement increased to 6.1 liters, for a final output of 445 horsepower and 635 Nm of bone-crushing torque.The monstrous powerplant is mated to a modified seven speed automatic gearbox transmitting the power to the rear wheels through a custom Brabus limited-slip differential.
But the heart of the car was just the starting point of the transformation, as every nut and bolt was carefully studied and changed, in order to improve both look and performance. Car aerodynamics were studied in the wind tunnel, for an OEM quality aerodynamic-enhancement package consisting of a new front spoiler that reduces lift at high speeds, rocker panels, rear apron and spoiler lip on the trunk lid.
Other optical enhancements include daytime running lights , integrated entrance lights to illuminate the ground under the doors, chrome-plated roll bars and four chrome tailpipes. Of course, the handling could not be ignored, so the modified roadster got sport springs, reducing the ride height by 30 millimeters, stronger sway bars to further reduce body roll and bigger brakes.
As nothing could be left to chance regarding the interior, the whole cockpit can be fully customized with various versions of ergonomically shaped sport steering wheels, leather and Alcantara for the seats, dashboard, door panels and even for the floor and rear firewall panel, ending with a speedometer graded to 330 km/h.
To finish the package with a touch of German generosity, the modifications offered by Brabus are covered by a three year, 100.000 kilometers warranty. Not bad for a car that does 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
