The SLK 55 AMG is hardly a new car. In fact, it will be heavily updated and turned into the SLC in 2016.
Considering how harsh emissions restrictions have become, we wouldn't be surprised to see 55 AMG engine being discontinue. Not only is this 5.5-liter a rare naturally aspirated V8, but even the Porsche Boxster is going turbo soon.
Thus, we need to treat the SLK 55 AMG as a special car, and I can't think of any better way for that than this next customization project done by Carlsson.
The Merc tuners were asked to perform a twin color miracle and managed to do so using a combination of grays and oranges. The theme is most impressively carried out inside and considering the SLK is a roadster, most passersby will get to enjoy it.
The dashboard has been completely covered in dark Alcantara, stitched with thick orange lines. Both the steering wheel and center console are completely covered with carbon, which is the real thing and not a piece of vinyl.
Moving on to the seats, these have been done in orange leather and have he Carlsson pegasus crest on the headrests. We would have liked to see more Alcantara, but this isn't our car, so we don't get a vote. Instead, our attention is drawn to the fact that the seat frames and rollover hoops have been trimmed.
On the outside, the tuners installed a more discreet rear spoiler, air outlets in the front apron and radiator grille bars. 19-inch wheels with 16 spokes were also installed and shod in performance rubber. A discrete trunk lid spoiler is like the cherry on the V8 cake.
