R231 — last year, these symbols were on every Mercedes enthusiast's mind, as they represented the rebirth of the legendary SL as a brand new, all-aluminum car. Daimler found clearer ways to shave weight, ad power and increase performance.
Today's Japanese-German tuneup comes in the form of a custom SL63 AMG that has been touched by Tokyo specialists Office-K. Rather than go for the latest body kit, they did the work themselves, pairing small changes in color with the best custom wheels around.
The red rocket sits on equally red Forgiato 2.15 wheels, sized 20-inch at the front and 21 at the back. A custom paintjob is accompanied by carbon fiber wrap for things like the the fog light surrounds, the rear fascia and even the Mercedes badges.
Office-K did a great job and they have to be given credit for not stripping the SL of its real character.
