German automakers have gotten this strange idea in their collective heads that they should offer as many body types as possible. The BMW X6, 6 Series Gran Coupe or Audi A7 are just some of the cars we could never have dreamed off a decade ago. But as you can tell, the trend is focused on adding more doors, not getting rid of them.
It's been a while since somebody put a a larger boot on a German two-door car. It hasn't really been tried since the days of the BMW Z3 Coupe. But what if you could combine the sexy long nose of a Mercedes SL with the practicality of an estate? The Ferrari FF proved there's a market for such a car, and thanks to Theophilus Chin, we know what an SL Shooting Brake would look like.

It's unlikely to ever see the light of production, but maybe Zagato can build one for a special event.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
