Mercedes-Benz’ F1 team, currently 53 points down on first place holders Red Bull Renault in the constructors’ standings. Well, it seems that they are eyeing a partial withdrawal for the 2014 season, with the 2013 season being the last one with full factory backing, due to the recent... instability the sport has undergone in recent times.
However, the partial withdrawal means that they will still be present in the F1 world, albeit under a different name, as the new team could be called AMG F1 - we say this would also bring extra kudos for Mercedes-Benz’ entire range of AMG-badged cars.

Furthermore, the team would remain pretty much unchanged, with Ross Brawn at the helm and Michael Schumacher behind the wheel. They will also probably continue to supply engines, as once the new 1.6-liter V6 rules come into effect, Mercedes-Benz will probably be one of the last three engine supplies in the championship, along with Ferrari and Renault.
