Platform flexibility is at the pinnacle of its greatness right now. Automakers can turn sedans into hatches, hatches into SUVs and SUVs back into sedans. Mercedes is also pretty good at this, as the next S-Class will have an unheard of six variants.
But apparently, the German automaker is still missing one product, a rival for stuff like the Porsche Panamera and especially the Aston Martin Rapide. It’s got to have a sporty feel, only four seats and a long nose with a huge grille at the end to gather a billion flies on long journeys. Howe about a four-door SLS AMG? Perfect, that’s the one!

A set of patent images of this new Merc’ fell into the hand of autoblog.com. They show some rear-hinged suicide doors to go along with the front gullwings. Interestingly, there is no B-pillar between the two, which must be hard to put into production considering the complicated shape of both the sets of doors.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
