Mercedes Launches AMG Driving Academy Teaser

Mercedes Benz USA has released this short teaser video, so that interested customers can learn more about the AMG Driving Academy, which provides hands-on racing instruction from the experts. If you are already a bit of a track hound or want to become one, there are few places that are better for you than this, as you’ll get access to cars that you won’t find anywhere else.

Recently, the academy got a lot more interesting, as you can now work your way up to getting the SLS AMG GT3 on track in the Masters program. As usual, the new program will comprise five separate courses: Emotion, Basic, Advanced, Pro and Masters. These take place on famous race tracks, including Laguna Seca and Road Atlanta.

The Emotion course will take the drivers and AMG-supplied cars on several public routes. The Basic course is aimed at “ensuring safe and confident reactions behind the wheel.“ Every participant earns the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics and car control maneuvers using customized exercises. Once they perfect car control and handling, they progress to a set of high-speed exercises that make use of the entire track.

The third program, Advanced, offers a two-day experience that picks up where Basic leaves off, providing advanced training and technical on-track instruction.

The Pro course, requires the completion of the Advanced one and will focus on allowing the drivers to experience the track behind the wheel on an AMG car on their own. During the three day program, participants train on the legendary Road Atlanta circuit. The last of the courses, the Masters one, features the stunning SLS AMG GT3.
