Yes folks, somebody at Mercedes-Benz decided to leave a whole convoy of thinly camouflaged GLC-Class models out in the open, knowing that we'll write a story about it. Heck, we'll bite!
The GLC-Class is supposed to debut on June 17th, about two weeks from now. This large fleet of cars is likely going to be shown to the press in Stuttgart, but we already got what we wanted: the interior.
Predictably, the GLC's cabin looks just like that of the W205 C-Class with which it shares it platform and engines. The design of the dash has a cascading effect, starting from the large infotainment screen perched like a tablet and working its way down to the three air vents, radio controls and cup holders.
The steering wheel, doors and instrument binnacle are all the same. Considering how nice Mercedes' surfaces are, we're not complaining. As for the seats, the ones in this video have white quilted leather, but that's going to be an option.
In previous reports we deduced that the GLC could be bigger than the original. How so? Well, we believe it's going to be the same 4.73-meter (186.2 inches) length as the GLC Coupe. Compare that to a 4.64-meter (182.6 inches) and of a 2002 M-Class and you start to realize this could fit a large family perfectly.
Engine choices will also carry over from the C-Class, mostly 4-cylinder mills and a few hybrids here and there. The cherry on top of the cake is going to be the GLC 450 AMG Sport that's equipped with a twin-turbo 3-liter V6 engine pumping out 367 PS.
