Mercedes GLA 45 AMG Is the Sportiest Crossover in Detroit

Since the Detroit Auto Show has started, we’ve been pretty excited to finally see all the awesome cars we’ve so dearly talked about this last year. Among the numerous vehicles, we’ve found the production version of  GLA45 AMG Mercedes-Benz, a car which very nearly didn't happen.

It seems that the company finally decided to take a step forward and bring the production model of the concept version we saw in Los Angeles, but let us tell you that you won’t see too many differences. Yes, the car appears to look exactly like the concept model featuring a surprising color palette, white with some red and black touches here and there for a sportier look.

Moving on to the it power, this AMG crossover SUV comes with 360 hp (355 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque, a seven speed dual-clutch transmission as well as a Haldex-based all-wheel drive system.

Also, even though the engine is the same as in other similar non-SUV vehicles, notably the GLA 250, this car manages to run from 0-60 in just 4.8 seconds, making the GLA 45 AMG Mercedes-Benz the fastest and most powerful in its segment.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
