Born from the need of people with guns, transformed into something for people with money, the story of the Mercedes G-Class is as interesting as the car is rugged.
Many people say this is just a toy, that despite getting 500 horsepower engines, it’s still no faster than the average family car. But if you flip the picture the other way around, everything else starts to look like a toy.

Slow everything right down, take away the smooth asphalt and maybe add some bad weather to the mix, and all other SUVs start looking like toys, while the G-Wagon becomes the real deal.

How about this for a shocker: the G-Class has everything it needs to “walk” up a flight of stairs. This is something a few other vehicles have been able to do, but the difference is this is a 60% slope. But with 3 locking diffs, the G has no problems finding traction.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
