Something tells us that Mercedes needs to change the speedometer on the E63 AMG, because the current one only goes to 320 km/h, and that's simply not enough for the 850 horsepower sedan put together by Posaidon Tuning.
The German tuning firm took the E63 AMG facelift to the next level of performance with some killer parts we normally associate with Brabus, such as… gold under the hood.
The extra power has been made possible by using larger turbochargers, a custom exhaust system and tweaks to the mapping. After everything was screwed down, the E63 AMG was dynoed at no less than 853 HP (627 kW) and a whopping 1,300 Nm (959 lb-ft). That's almost 300 extra hp, or like adding a BMW M135i's engine under the bonnet.
To help the car cope with this must power, Posaidon also made chassis upgrades by strengthening the rear suspension and gearbox.
So as to stop the tires from exploding, the top speed was also limited… to 214 mph (345 km/h), which as you can see doesn't actually show on the speedometer.
Cosmetic changes are limited, but they do include a new set of wheels, which actually look like Mercedes made them, some carbon fiber inserts and a two-tone wrap. Inside, we immediately fell in love with the black carbon fiber steering wheel and the inserts for the dash and doors made from the same material.
If you don't want your E63 AMG to humiliate Lamborghinis, Posaidon is offering lesser tuning packages which start from a minor 630 hp tweak of the 5.5-liter V8 and go all the way up to 750 hp.
