German coachbuilder Binz is obsessed with stretching Mercedes-Benz E-Class wagon and now the company has released its latest project, the Binz Xtend. The vehicle was announced at the 2010 edition of the Essen Motor Show, but the conversion job was an extremely complex one. This is because the rear doors and the rear axle are now split by 31.7 inches (0.8 m) of metal, while the total length of the car sits at 224.4 (5.75m)inches.
The Binz Xtend Wagon borrows the engine range from the standard E-Class Estate. So, at one end of the scale we have the 240 hp E250 CDI diesel, then we move to the petrol side of the list: the V6-powered 292 hp E350, the 388 hp V8-gifted E500 and even the 518 hp twin-turbo V8 in the E63 AMG.
For those who want even more (bling), Binz offers an X-Orange edition that comes dressed in a bold shade of orange and uses racing seats with four-point harnesses. The pricing for this edition hasn’t been announced, but the standard Xtend can be yours for EUR80,000 ($97,680 at the current exchange rates).
