Mercedes CLS Rendered as Australian Ute

The word Australians have coined as ‘ute’ actually stands for ‘utility’ or ‘utility coupe’ . These vehicle have been quite popular over the years, and why Holden has a stronghold in this market, other manufacturers also tried their hand. Toyota or Subaru at one time or anther converted their sedans with sexy pickup beds in the back.

But what if there was a luxury ute segment. Let’s imagine, for a second, that strong competition would exists between the German automakers on who makes the best ute. BMW last year made an M3 pickup as an April Fools Day joke.

That would have been fun to drive, but the sexiest ute would have probably been based on the Mercedes CLS four-door coupe. Well, here’s what that would look like!

These renderings show a very svelte workhorse with glossy paint, twin exhausts and that desirable Mercedes badge.

This sort of car will never be built, but you have to admit that if you were a bit drunk... you definitely would show this CLS ute some love. It would be so nice if Mercedes had a sense of humor and actually built this!
