Daimler CEO Dr. Dieter Zetsche was on hand at the Detroit Auto Show earlier today for the American preview of the new CLA four-door.
The car is a new chapter for Mercedes, who is targeting younger buyers with this stylish new car that follows the same design logic as its big brother the CLS four-door coupe, but used a front-wheel drive platform it borrows from the A-Class.
Mercedes Benz USA will only offer the CLA 250 model, which is powered by a turbo 2-liter turbo with 208 horsepower. It’s fitted as standard with a seven-speed double-clutch gearbox and can be speced with 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
Two chassis options are available, the standard one set for comfort and the sport model, which is lower and also gets bigger wheels and a cool body kit inspired by an upcoming AMG model.
Prices in America are yet to be announced, and should be revealed closer to the April launch date. As for Europe, check out our previous post for all the details, or download the official press release below.
