A German branded car that's built in Hungary and sold in China – globalization at its best, right here! The Mercedes-Benz CLA class will soon be sold in China, a fact indicated by this testing vehicle spotted on a truck in Shanghai.
But the CLAs will be made in Europe and imported into China, at least for the time. However, Beijing-Benz, a Daimler joint venture in the country, will star local production of a stretched version some time in 2014, Car News China reports.

Yes, not even the CLA is safe from the Chinese trend for adding more legroom in the back to please Chinese consumers. We heard that in China, people but LWB cars as a sign of respect to their friends, coworkers and family members by giving them more space.

In China, the CLA, the normal one, will be sold with 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter turbo petrol engines starting this November.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
