Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe Vs. Ducati 848 EVO, Man Vs. Woman

Freckles, sensual blonde hair, full lips... wait, there’s a masculine guy sleeping next to her! This is how the one of the two new commercials for the freshly revealed Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Coupe starts. The video shows the new performance Merc competing against a Ducati 848 EVO motorbike on some twisty roads.

The beautiful young woman jumps out of her pijamas into a white bike suit and challenges her square-jawed partner to a race. It’s not hard to guess who wins, seeing as this is a Mercedes commercial, but we can’t help wonder it the C63 would have won if it was Valentino Rossi behind the wheel of that motorbike. Fortunately, the carmaker has realized its customers don’t want to impress the Ducati factory driver and opted for a beautiful blonde instead. We’re not saying that Rossi isn’t good-looking, but he isn’t a blonde.

The appearance of the 140 hp Ducati bike in the video is the fruit of last year’s collaboration between the two performance houses.

AMG’s new answer to the 450 hp Audi RS5 and the excellent 420 hp BMW M3 coupes comes in the form of the C63 AMG Coupe. It sticks with the familiar 6.2-liter V8, which now produces two states of tune, as the basic version churns out in the region of 450 hp, while AMG Development Package that pushes output to 487 hp in the European version. There’s only one available transmission for the rear-wheel drive coupe, and that is the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed automatic that offers several. Now go impress your lady-friends with that piece of information.
