Lorinser makes the weirdest body kits in the entire world for the Mercedes-Benz lineup. We still remember that W222 S-Class they paraded all year, but for the Essen Motor Show, the Germans prepared something for the W205 C-Class.
The project started out all right, by targeting the C450 AMG 4Matic. It’s equipped with the first twin-turbo V6 in Mercedes history and gives the Audi S4 a run for its money. The standard output of 367 PS has been increased to 435 PS, meaning you never have to worry about losing a race to the A45 AMG. At the same time, torque has gone up from 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) to 620 Nm (458 lb-ft).

The added power has lowered the C450’s sprint time by 0.3 of a second. Considering that, we figure paying Lorinser €1,541 for the extra power is a good investment.

However, the same cannot be said about the body kit. Not only is it expensive at €7,985 but it also looks like the dog’s dinner. The new front bumper with flamboyant air intakes is only a small part of the overall package. The C450 has also been gifted with side mirror trims, rear deck lid spoiler, and a sports exhaust rear muffler.

The upside is that nobody can ever say your Mercedes passes unnoticed. While we’re not fans of the front, the wheels being showcased in Essen aren’t bad. The standard ones that are part of the C50 package mentioned above measure 19 inches and are covered with 225/40 R19 front and 255/35 R19 rear Continental SportContact6 tires. But you can also upgrade to a more expensive 20-inch set.

For an improved stance, Lorinser offers a suspension lowering kit that brings the car 30 mm closer to the ground. You could spend all this money... or you could just buy the C63 and be done with it.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
