Just Monday we were telling you that Mercedes-Benz will introduce a new entry-level model in the C-Class range. As it turns out, they were planning on revealing not one but five new models this week, all part of the same family.
The entry-level C160 is the most interesting one, not because of its power or incredible specs but for its price tag. Starting at €31,683.75 it becomes the cheapest C to own at the moment. That money will get you a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter turbo engine making 129 HP and 210 Nm of torque.

Don’t think you’ll be racing on the Nurburgring with this car though. Getting from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 9.6 seconds. At least it’s not thirsty and, according to Mercedes, it will sip just 5.2 liters of petrol every 100 km (0.2 more for the Estate version) or 45 mpg. The CO2 emissions will be pretty high though, at 120 grams per km.

Then there are the new C200 4Matic and C220 d 4Matic models included in the mix as well, starting at €41,441.75, being amongst the cheapest all-wheel drive cars on the table from Mercedes-Benz at the moment.

Going a bit further up the range we’ll find the C300 model that uses a 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine making 245 HP and covers the 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 5.9 seconds (6.1 for the Estate). That’s just 0.1 seconds slower than it’s arch-rival, the 328i from BMW. Fuel consumption for this model is rated at 6.3 l/100 km (37.3 mpg) which is better than what the Bavarians claim for their 328i (35 mpg or 6.7 l/100km).

Last but not least we have the C 450 AMG Sport 4Matic, deemed a new model thanks to the all-wheel drive transmission. This new C-Class part of the AMG Sport offering has the same 3-liter V6 under the bonnet making 367 HP and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque as on the RWD version.

With the added traction, the Merc will do 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds in saloon guise and 5 seconds flat for the Estate version. Of course, the fuel consumption figures go up a bit, rated at 7.6 l/100 km (30.9 mpg) on average.

If that’s not enough, you can get the C 63 and C 63 S AMG models that have the same 4-liter twin-turbo V8 under their bonnets making 476 HP and 510 HP respectively. They are now available for purchase at dealers around the world for starting price of €76,100 or €84,371 respectively.
