Adding the Sprinter and smart model lines, sales were up 14.4 percent compared to last year, the total of 37,345 cars sold making for the 50th consecutive month of sales increases since the record streak began at the end of 2009.

Year-to-date sales number for the Mercedes-Benz brand alone hit a record 279,501 units, while adding the 19,988 Sprinter Vans and 8,409 units at smart made for a grand total of 306,898 units.

“November's result has already propelled us past last year's record sales volume,” said Steve Cannon, president and CEO of MBUSA. “We're striking a chord with more customers than ever before thanks to a strong product portfolio, the best dealers in the business and a laser focus on the ownership experience.”

If the retail volume advantage keeps up in December as well, it looks like the Stuttgart brand is finally getting back its luxury sales crown in the US from BMW, making Dieter Zetsche a very happy man.
