While you’re busy spending money on vacation, enjoying the advantage of your wealthy friend’s roadster, and partying until dawn, automakers are already planning their next step. This time we’ll take a small detour from what this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show has to share and talk a little of the lifestyle branch for a change. Next stop, Mercedes-land.
Because let’s face it, what is a gentleman driving a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG without the proper eyewear? And we’re not talking about the summertime here. No, the Germans have recently unveiled their new Autumn/Winter Collection. In just a couple of words, they call the frensh models a combination of innovative material. But let us look closer first.

Designed by Mercedes-Benz Style and eyewear specialist Rodenstock, the collection incorporates newly developed materials, colors, and shapes. Divided into five styles of sunglasses and correction lenses Mercedes defines the entire group by “uncompromising quality and contemporary materials crafted to perfection.”

Mercedes-Benz Style is introducing wood-effect glasses as a unique feature in this new range. What does that mean? The designs combine wood-acetate rims with arms made of lightweight, high-grade stainless steel. The frame is also made of acetate, thus offering longevity. According to the company, the additional sunglasses in the range are also manufactured using an innovative combination of materials.

“They bring together a clean metal look with high-grade ultralight polyamide, which further highlights the modern luxury of Mercedes-Benz Style,” the Germans explain. Since we’re still a couple of months from seeing these puppies hit the stores, we’re going to have to settle with the pictures for now.
